5705. Jacobs Well (or Well of Sychar) near the archaeological site of ancient Schem (Nablus) located in the complex of a Greek Orthodox Church. According to Jewish tradition this is the land that Jacob bought when he returned from Paddan-Aram. According to the New Testament Jesus was resting at the well when he met a Samaritan woman (John 4:7-15)
