“5408. The El Transito Synagogue in Toledo, Spain. Built by Samuel Ben Meir Ha-Levi Abulafia in c.1320-1360. The synagogue is located inside the medieval Jewish quarter, juderia, at a central location within the walls of the city of Toledo. When the Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492 the synagogue was turned into a monastery, church, hospital etc, today it is a protected monument. “
