532. TET BE AV – THE HEBREW DATE OF THE DAY OF THE DESTRUCTION OF THE GREAT TEMPLE IN JERUSALEM BY THE ROMANS (70 AD). IT IS A DAY OF MOURNING DURING WHICH JEWS FAST AND PRAY, CUSTOMARY BY SITTING ON THE FLOOR, TO EMPHASIZE THE SORROW.
