5027. SARTABA – The highest mountain in the Jordan Valley, well known in the Jewish tradition and history: Herod ‘the Great’, build a palace/fort, or modified existing Hasmonean ones. Archeological excavations of an ancient synagogue, note the ‘hart’ shaped pillar parts, typical in 5th. C. synagogues.
