5410. Moses ben Maimon, Maimonidesin English and Rambam in Hebrew), was born in Cordoba, Spain in 1138 and died in Egypt in 1204. Maimonides was the greatest Jewish philosopher of the medieval period and is still widely read today. The Mishneh Torah, and Guide of the Perplexed established him as the leading rabbinic authority of his time and quite possibly of all time.
